Elon Musk taking over Twitter – Immediately fires key executives

Elon Musk accused of insider trading in Dogecoin - Case gains momentum

It’s happened! Elon Musk has officially become the owner of social media platform Twitter. As reported by leading news agencies, at the same time he began a purge. Top executives were to leave the deck.

Musk and his plans for Twitter

“The bird is set free” – with these words Elon Musk greeted the Twitter community in his role as its new CEO. It is an obvious reference to the logo that represents the ever-popular social media platform.

Meanwhile, as reported by Reuters news agency, Musk began his adventure with Twitter with a solid reshuffle at the company’s high levels. The company’s CEO Prag Agwal, CFO Ned Segal, and head of legal affairs and policy Vijaya Gadde were to say goodbye to their positions. The latter figure was responsible for the decision to suspend Donald Trump’s account. This fact partially tarnished Twitter’s image. The public began to accuse representatives of the platform of censorship, as well as taking away the right to free speech.

The new CEO of the microblogging platform is causing a lot of speculation in the market. Discussions about his plans are steadily increasing. The valuation of Musk’s particularly well-liked cryptocurrency, Dogecoin (DOGE), is also rising. Some investors expect it to be heavily integrated into the platform.

Open letter to advertisers

Twitter, as a social media, earns money primarily from advertising. Musk is well aware of this. He also tries to follow the voice of users, who demand the previously mentioned freedom of speech. In an attempt to combine the two, which sometimes have different interests, he has issued a letter to advertisers. Among other things, it reads:

“Twitter, of course, must not become a ‘free-for-all hellscape’ where you can say anything without any consequences! In addition to respecting the laws of the land, our platform must be warm and welcoming to all, where you can choose your desired experience according to your preferences, just as you can choose, for example, to watch movies or play video games, from all ages to the mature.”

Twitter relevant to crypto

The future of Twitter thus becomes even more puzzling. We wrote about some of the ideas and rumors about the platform in an article titled: “Friday with drinks and Elon Musk as the new owner of Twitter – will you participate?”. Be sure to take a look for more details.

Meanwhile, for the cryptocurrency community, this platform is extremely important. Topics related to virtual assets are some of the most talked about on it. It is on Twitter that news is published first. Also those from us. So we encourage you to observe us. You’ll find the link at the top of the screen.
