Vueling partners with BitPay to become first European low-cost airline to accept payments in Shiba Inu

Shiba Inu

The Shiba Inu (SHIB) payment method for using airline services will soon be live! Until recently, this idea might have sounded like a marketing gimmick or an attention-grabbing joke. Today, however, it is becoming a reality.

SHIB on board of Vueling Airlines

Based in Barcelona, Vueling Airlines is one of the most popular low-cost airlines in Europe. As of 2022, it operates nearly 330 routes, often connecting Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. This popular carrier, shared fantastic news in recent days. In collaboration with BitPay – a well-known digital payment gateway, for quick payments in digital currencies – Vueling decides to accept fees for its services in 13 cryptocurrencies. Among them was Shiba Inu (SHIB)

According to official information, airfares offered by Vueling will be communicated in euros, but customers will be able to use virtual assets to make purchases thanks to the conversion methods provided by BitPay.

A press release issued on the matter confirms that:

“Ticket prices will be displayed in euros and customers will be able to pay for their flight from over 100 wallets and choose from 13 different cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Dogecoin (DOGE), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC).”

Shiba Inu a solution to fraud and scams

According to market observers, the widespread introduction of payment methods based on cryptocurrencies is becoming a kind of standard. This is due to the special features that virtual assets boast. Many believe that compared to transactions based on fiat currencies, cryptocurrencies significantly reduce the likelihood of fraud and scams. This gives ground for SHIB to become a very popular form of payment.

The collaboration between Vueling and BitPay, further involves a third party. It is UATP, which is a global company used by most airlines to process payments. In this case, it will increase the security of crypto transactions and enable them to run smoothly.

Shiba Inu continues to gain

The prospect of making payments through SHIB shows how from a meme coin, Shiba Inu is becoming a strong network, with increasingly strong foundations. Putting it alongside coins like BTC and ETH only highlights its growth. As a result, we will probably hear a lot more good things about it.
