Ripple confirms partnership with British sports car manufacturer Lotus

NFT based on the famous British car brand Lotus could become a real treat for fans. Information that surfaced less than two weeks ago has just been confirmed by Ripple.

NFT on XRP Ledger (XRPL)

On Tuesday, June 28, Ripple via Twitter officially announced its partnership with the popular sports car manufacturer. The British company Lotus will thus launch automotive non-transferable tokens based on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) space. As the announcement states:

“We are delighted to partner with @lotuscars to help bring automotive NFTs to XRPL.”

This information first saw the light of day as early as June 16, but it was only 12 days later that Ripple decided to confirm it.

Ripple Creator Fund goes from strength to strength

The upcoming NFTs are to be the product of Lotus’ Advanced Performance unit. The unit was established earlier this year. The digital collector’s items are intended to reflect Lotus design and be a kind of symbol of the brand’s activities.

Also, the NFT line should introduce collectors and makers to the various Lotus cars made over the years.

Simon Lane, Director of Lotus Advanced Performance, commented on the matter in an official communication with the following words:

“Lotus has always relied on innovative solutions, and entering the Web3 space in this way, with the customer-oriented NFT program, is another great example of this. Working with NFT PRO, a true expert in the field, means that we are guaranteed to deliver memorable content to the new digital community of Lotus fans.”

The creation of NFT for Lotus is to be handled by the aforementioned NFT PRO. It is an entity that is one of the beneficiaries of the high-profile $250 million Ripple Creator Fund. This situation shows that the undertaking undertaken by Ripple and the huge expenses incurred for this purpose are beginning to bear the expected fruit.

NFT an opportunity for the automotive industry

The current geopolitical situation and economic conditions are causing the automotive industry to experience great suffering. More than once we have read headlines about disrupted supply chains that have significantly delayed or even stopped the production of new vehicles. Some brands are therefore looking for an additional form of financing. In this case, the move on the part of Lotus in the form of a partnership with Ripple is a downright masterpiece.

Christian Ferri, who is CEO of NFT PRO himself, is excited about it:

“It is an honor to partner with such an iconic British automotive brand and help the Lotus Advanced Performance team connect with a new generation of fans. This announcement is just the beginning of this collaboration.”
