Satoshi style – Bitcoin style wedding in Lebanon

Satoshi Bitcoin Wedding Lebanon

An unusual initiative has taken place in Lebanon. A Bitcoin-style wedding took place in the country, which is facing a very serious economic crisis. Many of its participants received their first Satoshi.

Bitcoin wedding

One of Bitcoin’s big supporters in Lebanon, Said Nassar, decided to use the leading cryptocurrency as the theme for his wedding. This international financial engineer, issued a gift to the reception attendees. Under each set of cutlery for guests, instructions were located on how to download a Bitcoin Lightning Network wallet in order to receive 4,000 Satoshi. At the time of the wedding, this gift was worth nearly $1.60.

The instructions via a QR code took the visitor to a YouTube video. The information contained in the video not only told how to use the wallet, but also informed why it was worth it. Of the 250 people who attended the wedding, nearly 75 followed Nassar’s request and soon received their first 4,000 Satoshi.

Nassar’s success rate was thus 30%. However, in his own estimation, it reached a much higher level. Mainly because everyone at the party heard about Bitcoin. This is important for him, since many of the guests previously did not know of its existence.

The perfect time for an “orange pill”

Nassar, being a total supporter of Bitcoin, made sure that there were more themes relating to the leading cryptocurrency in the room. Among other things, there was a volcano, which symbolized the volcano bonds to be issued soon by the Salvadoran government. We wrote about some delays in their introduction last week. If you haven’t read it yet, take a look at the article titled: “Bitcoin bonds in El Salvador delayed due to security concerns: Tether CTO”.

Nassar often jokes to himself that when meeting new people he only has half an hour to talk about topics different from Bitcoin, as he quickly moves on after that to what he thinks is most important. To quote:

“I try to explain monetary policy and what fiat money is to every person I meet for more than 30 minutes.”

Nassar’s mother hodler of all Bitcoin

While guests received just 4,000 Satoshi each, Nassar’s mother boasts of owning the entire coin. The groom proudly admitted:

“All my close friends and members of my family have bought Bitcoin, and my mother is the entire coiner.”

In January of this year, inflation in Lebanon exceeded 200%. Officials, seeing the difficult economic situation, are urging citizens to avoid buying BTC. But experts observe that cryptocurrency adoption in the country is booming. And as Nassar himself points out: “Hyperbitcoinization begins at home.”
